Great River Homes celebrates anniversary

40 years of growth

Great River Homes, Inc. celebrated its 40-year anniversary of incorporation as a non-profit organization in Wabasha County on Sept. 13.
In 1975, a group of local citizens established Great River Homes, Inc. to provide a community-based residential alternative to institutional care of people with developmental disabilities in Wabasha County. The original board had a vision of people living a normal life in the community by living in real homes, having real jobs, having close relationships with family and friends and contributing to society as full citizens of the community.
