Heise’s message to Bluff View students: ‘Try new things, work hard, be kind’

Professional hockey player Taylor Heise was back at her former school, Bluff View Elementary School in Lake City, on March 21.

Students and teachers wore hockey jerseys and other clothing promoting teams Heise has played on over the years, including Team USA and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Heise was in one of her current jerseys, No. 27 for the Minnesota Professional Women’s Hockey League Team.

Walls and tables in the gym were full of Taylor Heise memorabilia and student-made posters. Some students in the audience waved banners they made.
