'Help is on the way' - Plow driver credited with saving motorist's life

David Ward was plowing County Road 19 outside of Kellogg on Dec. 22 when he noticed a pickup-truck that had gone off the road.

“We run into quite a few cars in the ditch here and there,” said Ward, who is in his 20th year driving plow for the Wabasha County Highway Department. “I stop at every one to make sure that there is no one in them.”

He stopped and didn’t see anyone, but he did see some footprints on the road, so he continued up the hill.

Then he turned around to have another look. This time he saw movement.
