High school alum among COVID-19 virus researchers

Mark Heise grew up on a farm near Oak Center and graduated from Lincoln High school in 1987. My Lake City neighbors on North 10th Street, Karen and Tom Heise, have frequently told me about their son Mark who is a virologist at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and today is at the leading edge of the latest research into the mysteries of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
