History Matters essay contest winners announced

The third annual History Matters essay contest winners were recently announced at Lincoln High School during a Tiger Pride event.

With 2022 being the sesquicentennial year for Lake City, the essays focused on interesting and well documented aspects of local history.

This year s winners and awards given were Rachal Thornton (first place, $300) and Avery Grobe (second place, $200).

The essays will be printed in The Graphic.
