History Matters essay contest winning essays announced

Two Lincoln High School scholars were recognized on Thursday, May 8, for their winning essays in the “Why History Matters” essay contest sponsored by the The Lake City Historical Society.

First place winner Natalie Anderson was presented with a Certificate of Excellence and $300 for her essay “The Resonance of History”.

Second place winner Catherine Wolf received a certificate and $200 for her essay “Why Does History Matter to Me?” We congratulate both students on their thoughtful and well-written essays which are shared below.
