Hok-Si-La Park offers many plant and tree specimens for walkers

The temperature was warmer for Walking Lake Pepin’s (WLP) third walk of the season at Hok-Si-La Park on Wednesday, June 26.
After gathering at the newly renovated dining hall, park manager Joanne Klees showed the interior, including the new tongue and groove ash boards on the walls. The ash was from trees removed from the park a couple years ago. The hall also received updated lighting.
The group’s walk was led by Frank Lupton and Dennis Robertson, pointing out plants along the trail and looking at the park’s eagle nest before returning to a campsite for s’mores.
