Kelly Kohrs and Terri Bissonette from the Hiawatha Animal Humane Society were the guest speakers at the Dec. 2 meeting of the Lake City Rotary Club.
There are 20 active members in the society at this time. The Hiawatha Humane Society started in 1971 with a group of volunteers in Lake City. They have six to 12 foster homes and they help around 120-150 animals per year.
There are two pet clinics they are associated with, one in Lake City and one in Zumbro Falls.
