Johnny overflows: Too much fall for just one day

Lake City will celebrate football, cool crisp nights, beautiful leaf colors and, of course, apples at Johnny Appleseed Day on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The day unofficially begins the night before with an appearance by Rudy Maxa, travel expert and broadcaster, at the Lake City Sportsman’s Club. People who prefer an outdoor activity can cheer on the Lake City Tiger football team as they take on the Byron Bears under head coach Ben Halder, a Lake City alumnus.
