Joint sediment reduction efforts underway
The first project to reduce the amount of sediment coming into Lake Pepin via streams that make up the Lake Pepin Watershed from the Minnesota side of the lake is nearly completed.
In 2022 three entities – The Greater Lake City Community Foundation, the City of Lake City and the Goodhue Soil and Water Conservation District – formed a partnership to raise funds to support projects designed to reduce the amount of sediment coming into Lake Pepin from Wells Creek, Gilbert Creek and Miller Creek.
