Klees honored for 20 years managing Hok-Si-La Park

Joanne Klees received recognition June 13 from the Lake City City Council for her contributions to the city as manager of Hok-Si-La Park for the last 20 years.

Klees announced her retirement earlier this year and the city has since hired a new manager, Lisa Quest.

In his announcement of the honor, Mayor Mark Nichols pointed to the sleeping cabins at Hok-Si-La as a high profile success during Klees’ tenure.

She lived onsite, and Nichols said there were many times she was up and at work before 5 a.m.
