"Lake City - A Great Place" essay contest winners announced
Organizers of the first “Lake City - A Great Place” essay contest are declaring the contest a success and already thinking about how to improve it next year. The contest drew 27 submissions in five categories by the Feb. 19 deadline. A three-judge panel scored the entries without knowing who wrote them. The combined scores of the three judges yielded outright winners and honorable mentions in the categories of 18 and under, ages 19-60, and ages 60 and over. In the open category there was a three-way tie.
