Lake City Marina’s evolution from a pond to the river’s largest municipal marina

The Lake City Marina is the largest municipal marina on the Mississippi River with 635 slips, 30 of which are designated for overnight mooring. It’s owned and operated by the city and advised by the Marina Board in addition to being widely regarded as one of the nicest harbors around. Like many features of our town, however, it had much humbler beginnings and only became what it is today through many years of change.
