Lake City, Tiedemans helped open “my door to the larger world”

Surin Maisrikrod looked around Lake City for the first time in 35 years recently and liked what he saw.

“What struck me is the things that remain pretty much the same as when I lived here,” said Maisrikrod, who was an exchange student from Thailand during the 1973-1974 school year living with the family of Mary Ann and the late Raleigh Tiedeman. He last visited the area in 1987.

“Largely things remain the same, but things have not deteriorated,” he said. “The same but in a better form.”
