Lake junk sought for exhibit

Local organizers are finding a special place for junk dragged out of Lake Pepin.

The junk will be on display during the city’s second annual Junk Crush Sept. 10-11.

The display of lake junk will be at the vacant store front adjacent to Meincke-Schurhammer Real Estate on Lakeshore Drive.

The display will be a precursor to the planned Lake City Interpretive Center and a tribute to collectors of river glass, fishing lures and other items that wash up on the lake’s shore and are collected.
