Lane qualifies for state geography bee

Lincoln High School seventh grader Carter Lane didn’t know when he was walking into history class earlier this year that he’d be competing in a geography bee, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t prepared.

“I’ve always liked geography and I’ve always studied it,” he said.

This studying takes the form of a series of YouTube videos featuring the nations of the world one at a time and alphabetically, Google Earth - a service that lets him explore far-flung places, and seterra.com - an educational website boasting over 300 map quiz games.
