Library discussion to focus on mental illness

Each year, one in four Americans experiences a mental illness. Most wait an average of 10 years before seeking treatment, largely due to the stigma.
People are invited to come learn more about mental illness from a program called “Make It OK” on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m., at the Lake City Public Library.
Anita Otterness from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Tammy Fiedler, Public Health director with Wabasha County, will discuss the misconceptions about mental illness and help people learn what they can do to Make It OK for people who are affected.
