Lions: Fireworks will proceed despite high water

Despite the flood waters in Lake City, the Lake City Lions Club is still planning the return of fireworks over Lake Pepin on the 4th of July.

The Lions Club, which took over the fireworks project after a one-year absence, has been working closely with the fireworks vendor, the Lake City Marina and city officials to find an alternate launch site should the traditional launch site, marina point, be subjected to flooding.

The fireworks display will begin at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.
