Little free childrens library honors the late Dori Schmauss
Family members of the late Dori Schmauss gathered with members of the Friends of the Lake City Public Library to mark the installation of “Dori’s Children’s Library” at Maplewood Mobile Home Park in Lake City.
The little library, constructed by Clay Ruggles and painted by a friend of the library, offers free books for children.
Funded with memorials given to the Friends, this project honors Dori, a founding member of Lake City’s Friends of the Library and whose career in social services focussed on the welfare of children.
