Local fire departments plan open houses around fire prevention week

The fire departments in Lake City and Zumbro Falls are having their annual open houses on successive weekends this month.
First up is the Lake City Fire Department open house on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lake City Fire Hall, 208 S. High St.
It’s an opportunity to meet firefighters, have free refreshments, and see representatives from Mississippi Welders Supply about fire extinguisher sales, recharging and recertification.
