Local vets raise flag before Twins game

Over 70 friends and relatives were on-hand to watch four Lake City-area Vietnam-era veterans raise the flag at the Minnesota Twins game on July 7 in Minneapolis.

Jon Gravenish, Tom Harkins, Jon Peters, and Cliff Reynolds raised the flag before the noon game on a 60 degree July day.

Jon Gravenish served in the Army from 1967 to 1969, attaining the rank of Sergeant E-5 and earning the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Cross of Gallantry, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Bronze Star Medal.
