Long-time Legion leaders Emery and Vicky Fick named Water Ski Days parade grand marshals

Lake City American Legion Commander Emery Fick didn’t have great aspirations when he began attending Legion meetings regularly in 2000.
He was going to meetings because after selling his dairy herd he had something else, free time.
Four meetings later, in November, he became the post’s commander, a position he’s held almost 17 years.
“From there it kind of grew with more activities over the years,” he said.
