Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota recognized three local employees with the 2018 Spirit Award that honors employees who demonstrate “outstanding commitment and dedication to the organization’s vision and mission,” according to a news release. The distinctive qualities that honorees bring to their work were highlighted at an awards luncheon in August.    
• Carol Schmidt, a direct support professional, was honored for her “invaluable contributions to operations during a time of change, her high quality care and ability to create a comfortable home environment.”
