The Lake City Sportsman’s Club threw a party at its clubhouse Sunday celebrating 50 years since club volunteers built it and 50 years since the club held its first annual ice fishing contest on Lake Pepin.
Hamburger baskets were selling for $2 apiece, hot dog baskets for $1. Club members were handing out ice cream cones and root beer floats downstairs. Inside and out people were chatting, listening to live polka music, playing beanbags, and looking over history exhibits created by the club for the occasion.
