Mr. McElmury’s impact remembered decades later

It started with a thank you note 50 years in the making.

Rob Prusak was a student of a man who traveled north to the Iron Range for his first teaching job, and the impact this teacher had on him changed his life.

That teacher was John McElmury, and he and his wife, Sue, were both hired fresh out of college in 1965 to teach junior high math and music, respectively, in Eveleth, Minn.
