Nearing a winter blood shortage, Red Cross encourages donations

The American Red Cross is asking people to consider donating blood at an upcoming drive in Lake City.

“The American Red Cross is teetering on a blood shortage this winter, which could lead to a disruption in lifesaving care,” according to a news release. “Donors are encouraged to make an appointment to give blood at our Lake City blood drive coming up Jan. 22 and 23 at the VFW Post 8729. January is National Blood Donor Month and donors have a chance to win a trip to Superbowl LX in California.”
