New event puts spotlight on childhood cancer
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and in an effort to raise awareness of childhood cancer, local families impacted by the disease are putting on an event this weekend.
The first annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ohuta Park in Lake City. In case of rain the event will move the the gathering place at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
Posters for the event promise food, fun, and entertainment.
