Over 130 kids took part in summer reading program
The Lake City Public Library summer reading program ran June 1 to July 31 offering kids the opportunity to record their progress through an online program called Beanstack that helped them track their library activities.
The summer program included a reading challenge, painted bowling pin search and find, treasure hunt with three different hidden treasures, located using GPS in both June and July and more.
There were 136 reading participants, with a total book count of 407. Grades one through six recorded their minutes and they finished with 28,067 minutes total.
