Packing for the weekend rep presents to Rotary Club
Al Thompson presented to the Lake City Rotary Club on Nov. 18 about Packing for the Weekend.
Packing for the Weekend provides families with children with a package of food (in a backpack) for the weekend consisting of a variety of food including bread and milk (and occasionally egg) vouchers for multiple meals over the weekend.
Food is packed in grocery bags at 2 p.m. on Fridays. Vouchers for milk and bread are added including one for eggs monthly. Food packages contain a weekly voucher for fresh meat, vegetables, or fruits.
