Pearl celebrates a decade of cruising

Larry Nielson got his last shot of the sun rising over Lake Pepin Tuesday morning. The season shift of the sun’s angle is moving behind the bluff.

A consummate river watcher, Larry photographs the sun rising on the lake from his home above the bluffs south of Lake City and shares it with his Facebook followers nearly every morning.

But he couldn’t linger Tuesday morning. He had to get into town and open his boat, the Pearl of the Lake, for visitors.
