Police: No ‘Night Out’ this year
The Lake City Police Department announced this week that the annual National Night Out event in Lake City has been canceled.
“Lake City PD is sad to announce that out of an abundance of caution, in order to slow the spread of COVID-19, National Night Out events will be canceled this year,” the department said in a facebook post.
The purpose of the annual event is to have people host and attend neighborhood block parties to forge connections between neighbors and law enforcement in the hopes of deterring crime.
