Post 110 turning 102

On Aug. 29, Lake City American Legion Post 110 will turn 102 years old.

“The post charter was issued by the National American Legion on this date in 1919 and we have been recognized as a Century Post by the American Legion,” the Legion said in a news release. “We are extremely proud to have a very historic and deep-seated history within our community. As the oldest continuously operating veterans service organization in Lake City, we continue to support veterans within our community as well as the ideals on which the American Legion was founded.”
