Pro bass anglers compete on Lake Pepin

Forty-seven anglers competed in a Champions Tour bass fishing tournament Friday, Aug. 21, on Mississippi River Pool 4, including Lake Pepin.

Matt Peters of Waconia, Minn., won the $12,000 prize, catching 126 pounds, 5 ounces, of fish between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m.

The largest fish caught was a 4 pound, 5 ounce bass caught by Chad Grigsby of Bovey, Minn.

Lake City resident Joe Hall is a rookie on the tour this year. His sponsor was JHA Transportation Services, part of John Hall’s Alaska.
