Public Health: Ticks are back in season

Welcome to the start of tick season. May is Lyme Disease awareness month in the United States. Wabasha County Public Health is issuing a reminder that everyone be “tick aware and tick alert,” especially as the days get longer. Ticks are more active from spring through July. Each year approximately 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported to Centers for Disease Control (CDC), however not all illness are reported.
