Rahilly scion donates watch sale proceeds to historical society

A donation of more than $23,000 to the Lake City Historical Society would be notable for its size alone.

Society President Eloise Blattner can’t be certain it’s the largest the society has ever received, but she said it is the largest in the “quite a few years” she’s been a member.

The donation, a check in the amount of $23,398.45, represents the amount fetched at a Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong by a gold Patek Phillippe pocket watch owned by Chuck Denny, Jr., of Minneapolis.
