Record number of riders expected for ninth Tour de Pepin

The ninth annual Tour de Pepin bicycle tour is poised to set a record before it gets started.

The record number of riders is 836, set last year.

The number of cyclists registered for this year was 838 Wednesday morning.

While online registration has closed, people still can register to ride in person at Ohuta Park Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. or on Saturday morning before the tour starts.

As many as 100 riders have registered at the last minute in past years.
