Regional sustainable agriculture scholarship sprouted in rural lake city

A group of people with connections to the Lake City area is aiming to impact farming processes throughout southeastern Minnesota with a scholarship and education efforts promoting sustainable farming.

The epicenter of the project is Manawa Prairie Farm just off of County Road 4 south of Lake City.

Manawa comprises 16 acres of native prairie to control runoff and provide habitat for pollinators and native spieces and 15 acres of organic pasture.

It is the home of Deirdre Flesche and Dag Knudsen.
