Scholarship luncheon highlights remarkable women and their stories

The Woman’s Club of Lake City met on Sept. 17 for their annual Scholarship Luncheon. At the event, we award a $1,500 scholarship to a local woman who is continuing her education or taking additional training to further her career. This year the Scholarship Committee selected Maria Zarate to receive this award, noting that the selection process grows harder each year with so many impressive applicants.
