School free meals extended through June

The United States Department of Agriculture has extended a program that provides free meals to children through the rest of the school year.

Instituted during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was previously extended until Jan. 1. The new expiration date is June 30.

“This means all students at (Lake City Public Schools) will continue ot receive free meals for the rest of the school year,” Supt. Erick Enger said in an email to families. “This is great news for our students/families.”
