Seed collection, hikes to be Saturday at Frontenac State Park

Everyone is invited to be part of the Frontenac State Park Prairie Restoration management plan. On Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. people can help collect seeds from various native prairie plants at the park. The seeds will be saved to re-plant back in the park to continue restoring native prairies.

Participants will learn about the process of harvesting seeds. They will also see the beautiful prairie areas in the park that have been created by other volunteers in the past.
