Skaters take to lake, ponds

It’s been cold lately, but not cold enough for long enough to get a skating surface on the Lake City ice skating rink at Underwood Park.

Lake City Public Works Director Scott Jensen said that with a shallow rink and a dark surface that absorbs heat, ice on the rink can begin to melt in temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s farenheit.
