Spare iron adds up to 300 turkeys for food shelf, women’s shelter

A little over 12 years ago Charlie Holter found himself in a predicament.

“I have a little Bobcat business. and every once in a while I’m picking up iron and stuff like that,” he said.

Over time this stockpile grew and grew.

“I thought ‘What am I going to do to all this iron?’ I took it to the scrap yard. I talked to my buddy and said what do you think if I sell this and use the money to buy turkeys for the food shelf?”

It sounded like a good idea, so that’s what they did.
