Speech contest, GOP picnic planned
Two events involving the Goodhue County Republican Party will be held Sept. 11-12.
The party is a co-sponsor of the Great American Experience speech contest to be held at Hobgoblin Event Center in Red Wing at 6 p.m.
People will be asked to give five- to seven-minute speeches on what it means to be an American without promoting any living person or business.
The event is open to the public.
The Patriot Day speech contest is being conducted by the Hiawatha Valley Toastmasters and is sponsored by The Red Wing Sportsmen’s Club and the Goodhue County GOP.
