In classrooms at St John’s School, red, white, and blue crayons worked overtime as students participate in this year’s Americanism Contest, an effort designed to help young children learn about the values, history, and symbols of the United States.
The event, organized by VFW Auxiliary and supported by St. John’s School, invited children from kindergarten through sixth grade to color the U.S. flag, to illustrate “Where I see our Flag,” and write an essay on “How and Why I show respect to the American Flag.”
