St. John's school literacy event is Saturday

St. John’s Lutheran School and Roots to Wings Learning Center will host a free literacy event for families on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The theme is “Down on the Farm.”

Children and parents can enjoy books, games, literacy activities, lemonade and snacks in the gym. There will also be farm animals to pet, tractors and equipment to climb on, a semi truck and a very special “cow” to milk.

People are encouraged to bring their cameras because there will be a few photo areas for children.

The event is free and open to the public.
