Veterans Day 2025: Don’t just thank a vet, think of them and their families

Tuesday, Nov. 11, was Veterans Day, and two local schools held their annual community programs to honor veterans of the U.S. Armed forces with song, speeches, and applause.

At St. John’s Lutheran School and Roots to Wings Learning Center, students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight performed several songs honoring veterans.

The guest speaker was military veteran and Lake City resident Howard Horen, who delivered an address co-written by his son, KC Horen, an active duty member of the military.
