Water Ski Day's Parade grand marshals pitched in right away

Forty-five years ago Cheryl Huettl and Kathie Durand spent Water Ski Days in front of the old Blue Moon Cafe selling cotton candy and snow cones.

They will celebrate the 45th annual festival riding at the front of the Water Ski Days parade on Sunday.

The two consummate community volunteers are being honored by the parade committee as examples of volunteers’ commitment to their community.

“Both Cheryl and I are honored to have been asked to ride in the parade,” Kathie said. “But we don’t volunteer for the recognition.”
