Woman’s Club experiences Hastings

It’s a Woman’s Club tradition to expand our horizons every summer with an excursion that aligns with our mission to “stimulate interest along educational, civic and cultural lines”. So when Kevin Beauvais, Lake City resident and General Manager of the Confluence Hotel in Hastings suggested a Lunch & Learn program there, he caught our interest. Maybe it pays to know the right people but we were royally received. Kevin met us at the door and personally welcomed us and introduced us to hotel and restaurant staff. He recounted the history of the hotel and described how it had evolved from a 1909 era utilitarian factory to a beautiful and charming gathering place, appropriately named “Confluence” describing where rivers—and now people—meet.
