WWII-era honored at St. Olaf reunion

On Saturday, June 1, World War II veteran Dave McKenzie and longtime friend Katie Meyer Schmidt were honored at St. Olaf College, along with other World War II-era class members. Dave represented the class of 1943 and Katie the class of 1945. It was quite a day at St Olaf – at 96 Dave was the oldest, and with youthful-looking Katie at his side they made the best looking and most envied couple on campus, leading the parade of alumni classes on “Golden Ole #1.”
