2016 a year of transition at City Hall

The City of Lake City started 2016 with a new city administrator. It will start 2017 with a new mayor.

Those are just two of several changes in key positions in local government that took place in 2016.

In addition, two changes were made on the City Council and three major staff positions were turned over.

Mark Nichols was elected mayor in November after running unopposed for the seat vacated by Joel Beckman. Beckman had said he would not seek a second four-year term as mayor.

The November election also produced two changes on the City Council.
